Duro-Last amrize updates

General

  • Punctuation always sits outside quotes on the “World’s Best Roof®” and it must always appear in quotes.
  • Body copy over white membrane should be consistently blue per client (Andrea), including display ads.
  • In display ads, “LEARN MORE” is all caps.
  • Pail artwork revised Oct 2023. Duro-Shield 20 pail removed.

Lockup / CTA

  • Use the standard lockup on all print ads.
  • If the green bar is not needed, remove it and center the DL logo under the CTA with the button above it.

Standard lockup and CTA bar. Click to enlarge.

Disclaimer (Amrize)

  • Duro-Last, EXCEPTIONAL Metals, etc. are now brands of Amrize Building Envelope LLC. Previously “divisions”, now all “brands”.
  • Separate ®/™ lines are no longer needed.
  • Change “…are trademarks in the Amrize portfolio.” to “…are trademarks of Amrize Technology Switzerland LLC, or its affiliates.”
  • Third-party marks: use “All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.”
  • Legend covers: Duro-Last, the World’s Best Roof, Duro-Guard, Duro-Tuff, Duro-Fleece (+ Plus), Duro-Bond, Duro-Grip, Edge-to-Edge & Deck-to-Sky, Duro-Last X, DLX, Duro-TECH.

Amrize endorsement footer

  • Statement legible at 6pt or larger.
  • Amrize wordmark is 3× the cap height of the statement.
  • Wordmark height equals the distance from the bottom of the Duro-Last wordmark to the bottom of the tagline.
  • Minimum safe space around the lockup equals the height of the Amrize ‘E’ on all sides.
  • Minimum sizes: endorsement lockup .8869″ × .5322″ (no padding) or 1.2505″ × .8958″ (padded); Duro-Last horizontal logo .1877″ × .456″.
  • Small ads: use only the Amrize logo in the footer and move “Duro-Last is part of the Amrize family of brands.” above the disclaimer line.

Emails

  • Subheads dark blue.
  • No © at the bottom.

Copy and formatting

  • ROOF-TRAK® and PROFLEX® all caps.
  • Avoid “that” and “very” in digital copy. Concise copy; contractions preferred.
  • Always use EM dashes, never EN dashes.
  • Image credit on all print ads. Regional: location after contractor name. Non-regional: “Building Name — Contractor Name” (omit city/state).
  • Periods in phone numbers (800.248.0280) and dates (09.11.23), even in disclaimers.
  • No comma before Inc./LLC (“Duro-Last Inc.”).
  • “More than”, not “over”. 45 years. “More than 100 million pounds of PVC have been recycled and saved from landfills.”
  • Jobsite is one word.
  • Duro-TECH: do not hyphenate 9 by 9 threads per inch.
  • AP Style: no Oxford comma. If removing it makes a sentence confusing, reword the sentence.
TOP TIER™ apr 2025

General. TOP TIER™ is always all caps and always carries ™. Usage: TOP TIER™ Approved Fuels / Approved Gasoline / Approved Diesel.

Copywriting. Use fuel economy, never gas mileage or fuel efficiency. Optimize economy, not efficiency. No definitive claims like “improves fuel economy”. Phrase it as “restores or optimizes fuel economy” (“helps restore or optimize” is fine); “improves” only if stated “relative to lower quality or lower detergency fuels”. Avoid price/cost comparisons. Say TOP TIER™ approval or authorized supplier, never certification.

Legal. Use “help” or “may” before claims.

Wi-Fi networks migrated

Guest network for visitors and clients: AMPM Guest. Internal networks share one employee password: AMPM Spectrum is the main upstairs network; the original AMPM network runs custom repeaters named AMPM_ (AMPM_AE_Wing, AMPM_Art_Department, etc.). Downstairs, use AMPM_EXT for best service. Outage backup: AT&T direct on network ATTHzqbsBA. All passwords: Passbolt

Network reset (server/router) migrated

If Internet/phones are down, power-cycle the modem: network room downstairs, devices behind the door. Reach around behind the rack for the power switch and cable, unplug the modem, wait 10–20 seconds and power back up. Startup takes about 5 minutes. Check the phones for a dial tone. If the reset does not restore service, contact AT&T for a service call.

AT&T support: Technical 1.844.840.5185 · Alternate 1.800.321.2000 · Wireless 989.948.4675 · Account numbers, FAN PIN and passcodes: Passbolt

TV display connections migrated

All screens are on AMPM_Spectrum. Join that network first (password in Passbolt).

Conference room (Samsung Q60BD 85 TV): Mac: Control Center → Screen Mirroring → select the TV → enter the on-screen passcode. Windows: Win+K → select the TV → grant permission with the remote.

Break room (98″ Crystal UHD): same steps; you may need the remote to select Maximize on the mirrored screen.

Production area (Pioneer Xumo, Center / Right): Mac casting works. The Pioneer Xumo screens do not support casting from Windows. Connect via the HDMI cables behind the printer next to Ty’s door.

Natural disaster response plan migrated

Evacuation: 7403 W. Wackerly St., Midland, MI 48642. Safety of employees is paramount; take your computer only if it poses no risk: computers can be replaced, people can’t. Meeting place: back south-east corner of the parking lot, out of the path of emergency vehicles. Extinguishers: 3 upstairs / 4 downstairs.

Alerts come via fire alarm or verbal warning (in person or intercom). For non-fire emergencies (chemical spills, power outages, hazardous materials), verbal notification will be given to evacuate immediately. Use the nearest exit. Top floor: front doors, with the double doors opened for anyone with disabilities. Bottom floor: back door or loading dock, whichever is closest and safest. Close all doors on exit (front and back auto-close; the loading dock is manual). A head count is completed by Ty Smith or Liz Russell. Use the buddy system without sacrificing your own safety, and remain calm.

No employee may perform medical or rescue duties during evacuations unless CPR or other lifesaving certification is on file with AMPM. Questions: Ty Smith or Joe Rivard. AMPM will occasionally conduct evacuation tests.

Tornadoes. Shelter areas: the downstairs network room and the Tradeshow storage room; if you cannot get downstairs, use the upstairs bathrooms. Never shelter in a room with a window. If outside with no shelter: get into a vehicle, buckle up and drive to the closest sturdy shelter; if hit by flying debris, pull over and park, keep your seat belt on, put your head below the windows and cover it. If you can safely get noticeably lower than the roadway, leave the car and lie in that area covering your head. Do not use an overpass or bridge. Never try to outrun a tornado in urban or congested areas. Danger signs: dark greenish sky, large hail, a large dark low-lying (particularly rotating) cloud or a loud roar like a freight train. More: ready.gov/tornadoes. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio and follow local emergency officials.
